Description
Our Higher level Irish classes focus on all five language skills and are practiced and developed in classes (speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar).
The course revises all poetry (Géibheann, Colscaradh, Spailpín Fánach, Mo Ghrá-sa, An tEarrach Thiar), prose (An Gnáthrud, Cáca Milis, Hurlamaboc, Dís, Oisín i dTír na nÓg), as well as focusing on the litríocht breise section of the course.
Students will be provided with opportunities to ask specific questions, create more personalised answers and build understanding of the language as a whole. Students will also have the opportunity to develop their language skills around a wide range of topics useful for the essay in paper 1 as well as for the oral component of the exam.
There is a specific focus each week on an element of grammar which will help students to improve the overall quality of their work. Notes and sample answers are provided for each topic as well as an explanation of marking schemes to best maximise marks.
